Tour de France rest day - check...so time out - out and away from the T.V. screen!
Les Ballastières is just outside the town boundary, walking distance really, but we go in the car and take our picnic chairs, books and bottles of water. We jokingly refer to it as our back garden - we should be so lucky!
Our usual spot in a small boarded corner is not available as a big branch of a tree has come down across it and, although we tried to pull it to one side, it simply sprang back again. We find a nearby, grassy opening to the lake and settle by the lakeside.
The view is similar but from a different viewpoint...
A couple of hours later feeling relaxed and refreshed, we head for home.
