Snaps…

On Tuesday at 8.50. the door bell rang.  I put my head out of the first-floor window above the door to find three men and a van from the central heating company.  I firmly said ‘No’ and that the work was cancelled by email the previous Friday and they should check with the secretary.  Unbelievable - but I didn’t snap.

Honestly, three men and the previous day just one man had replaced the necessary tap and piping, sorted out the leak on a radiator valve, got our central heating up and running and all in less than an hour!

On Wednesday we went for a drive in the afternoon under cool, grey sky…but in a little sunshine at St Laurent spotted three trees laden with mistletoe across the river Othain…

…and, back home in the evening, spotted this fantastic sunset over the town…

Thursday was a very cold and windy day and I didn’t want to take the chance of waking up my TN. which, ssh, has settled down. Ron had a little outing - collecting our ordered bread and stopped to give the “town” dog some spare-rib bones.

This afternoon, Friday, the sun was shining after rain overnight and early morning. We decided to get out for a while and as Ron needed to go to a Bricomarché it was a choice of Verdun, Stenay or Longuyon, all about the same distance from home. We decided to have a cup of tea first and when we got to he car, grey clouds were back and it had started to rain!  As we left the town, there were gaps in the clouds so we followed the blue to Longuyon, where the sun was shining.

When we came out of the store, it had just started to rain so we followed the blue again and brought the sunshine back home with us - for a while anyway!

  2. Thanks, Chris - I think you meant this comment re the stone "faces" - and now I've spotted a typo - should of course have been beard, not bears! lol I like that one too.
