Late July and even under a cloudy sky, the countryside is golden. These are photos of some of the countryside we go through on the way home from the lake.
Back in Damvillers, we stopped off at the stork aviary - but only one bird in residence...
There are a few poles for stork nests in and around the town, as well as flat tops on some chimneys and an aviary below the one in the photo but we were a bit surprised that today it was empty, overgrown and looking a bit neglected. The one in Les Rainettes has a family of four babies - hope to go the open art day there next Sunday and will have to see if the birds are still there.
Such a lovely area. I do like the photo of the stork.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Alison. Its beauty still surprises us.
