School Fete

The raffle stall just inside the gate did a good trade at the School Fete.

The last day of June and a searingly hot but windy day. At least it is dry for the small primary school Fete.

Beyond the playground a field was surrounded by various stalls, with activities taking place in the middle.

A small group of the children entertain with drumming.

We wandered around looking at the stalls and took refuge in the bar at the top of the field.  The shade was welcome - as was the Pimms - but it was a really windy corner so we wandered down past other stalls where a high bench caught my eye and although it was out of the wind, it was a real heat trap.

We started cooking so decided to return home - such a long journey as just across the road!  Oh well, at least we’ve shown our faces and our support was appreciated.
